The Z Report is Zing's annual industry publication — a comprehensive look at staffing patterns, workforce trends, compensation benchmarks, and platform data from across Toronto's restaurant ecosystem. Published each year, it draws on millions of data points generated by every shift posted, accepted, completed, and reviewed on the Zing platform.

The report is distributed freely to restaurant operators, hospitality educators, industry associations, media, and policy makers. It is the only data resource of its kind focused exclusively on Toronto's independent and mid-size restaurant staffing market.

Each edition features shift fill-time data, Teammate rating distributions, cuisine-category staffing trends, emergency request patterns, Talent Cluster performance, and commentary from operators across the city. We also feature contributing voices from the industry — chefs, GMs, culinary educators, and Teammates — who offer ground-level perspective that numbers alone can't tell.
