No. Zing is a technology platform built for hospitality. The work we take off everyone's plate is the matching. We get to know both sides, learn what each one is really looking for, and bring the right Teammates and the right Spots together so neither has to go searching. Onboarding is built to make that effortless, and paying and getting paid is simple for everyone. We're the platform that does the legwork of putting the right people in the right rooms.
No. What makes Zing different is the matching. Instead of leaving both sides to sort it out for themselves, we pair each Teammate with the Spots that genuinely fit them. The part we put the most care into is getting to know both sides well. With Teammates, we learn their experience and what they're looking for in a shift. With Spots, we learn their style and what they expect on the floor. When you understand both, the match holds and it grows into a real working relationship. It also means there's very little left for either side to do once they're on Zing.
Since 2019. We've facilitated over 15,000 shifts across Toronto. We survived COVID — which hit our industry harder than almost any other — because a handful of loyal restaurant partners stuck with us through it. That history gave us the data foundation that powers everything we do today.
Yes, right now. We're focused on Toronto because we believe in building deep before building wide. We know this city's hospitality scene — the restaurants, the workers, the unique challenges. When we expand, it'll be because the model is proven here first.
Zing uses flat, transparent pricing. You see exactly what you're paying and the Teammate sees exactly what they're earning. No hidden fees and nothing buried in the fine print. Reach out and we'll share current rates.
Most shifts posted the evening before are filled by the next morning. If your Spot has a strong rating and some history on the platform, it tends to go even faster, because Teammates want to work at the places they know are good to be.
It's rare, and when it does happen it becomes part of that Teammate's record. Reliability is one of the things we weigh most heavily when we match, so it carries real weight for everyone working through Zing. You're also covered by our cancellation policy if a shift falls through.
Yes, and we love it when that happens. There's a clear path on Zing from picking up shifts to coming on full-time. By then you've already watched the Teammate work your floor and you've seen their real performance, so you're bringing on someone you actually know rather than someone you just met in an interview.
Dishwashers, kitchen helpers, prep cooks, event staff, coatcheck, bussers, servers, bartenders barbacks, hosts, front of house and back. We have Teammates across 26 hospitality roles.
The restaurant pays Zing, and Zing pays you. You see your rate before you accept any shift, and you're paid promptly once the shift is done. What you agree to is what you get.
Not necessarily. If you're new to hospitality, we'll match you with entry-level roles like dishwasher, busser, food runner, or barback to start. As your ratings build and you prove yourself, more roles and better restaurants open up. Everyone starts somewhere.
It starts with a short personality and work-style questionnaire, around ten minutes. Then there's a session where we get to know you across six dimensions: technical skill, presentation, communication, motivation, adaptability, and warmth. It isn't a test you pass or fail. It's a profile that shows who you are as a Teammate.
That's the whole point. You pick the shifts you want, at the restaurants you choose, on a schedule you control. Some Teammates work regularly across three to five restaurants. Your profile, your ratings, and your reputation travel with you to every one of them.
You rate them, the same way they rate you. Those two-way reviews shape which restaurants the best Teammates choose to work at. And you can see a restaurant's profile and what other Teammates have said about it before you accept anything. The choice is always yours.
Yes. Our assessment is about who you are as a Teammate, not where you're from. A lot of the people on Zing are newcomers building their first hospitality profile here in Toronto. From your very first shift, your ZingCard becomes your local professional identity.
Whether you run a kitchen or work in one, Zing is built for you.
