1. Who We Are

Zing ("we," "us," or "our") is a hospitality platform operated in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. We connect restaurants and hospitality venues ("Spots") with vetted hospitality workers ("Teammates") through our two-sided matching platform at zingwithus.com and through our associated mobile and web applications.

For the purposes of applicable privacy legislation, including the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA) of Ontario, Zing acts as the data controller for personal information collected through our platform. Our primary place of business is Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

2. What Data We Collect

We collect personal information that you provide directly, information generated through your use of the platform, and in limited cases, information from third parties.

For Teammates

• Name, email address, phone number, and location information
• Work history, qualifications, and role experience
• THSS assessment responses and resulting dimension scores
• Shift history, confirmed bookings, and completion records
• Post-shift ratings received from Spots across six professional dimensions
• Profile photographs and any media you choose to upload
• Payment information for shift remuneration (processed via secure third-party providers)
• Device and usage data generated through platform interaction

For Spots (Restaurants)

• Restaurant name, address, and business registration information
• Contact name, email address, and phone number of the account holder
• Cuisine type, service style, team structure, and operational details
• Shift postings, matching preferences, and booking history
• Post-shift ratings submitted about Teammates
• Zings loop scores received from Teammates about the Spot
• Billing and payment information (processed via secure third-party providers)

3. How We Use Your Data

We use the personal information we collect for the following purposes:

• To create and maintain your account on the Zing platform
• To operate the matching algorithm and surface relevant shift or Teammate recommendations
• To process and display THSS assessment results on Teammate ZingCards
• To calculate and display Zings ratings for both Teammates and Spots
• To facilitate confirmed shift bookings and communicate shift details to both parties
• To process payments and maintain records required for financial compliance
• To send platform notifications, shift alerts, and service communications
• To improve platform features, refine the matching model, and conduct internal analytics
• To investigate disputes, enforce our Terms of Service, and protect platform integrity
• To comply with applicable legal obligations under Ontario and Canadian law

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising targeting on external platforms without your explicit consent.

4. Data Sharing

Certain information is shared within the platform as a function of its two-sided matching design:

• Teammate ZingCards (including dimension scores, Zings tier, and shift history summaries) are visible to Spots reviewing match candidates for a posted shift
• Spot profiles (including Zings loop scores, ratings, service descriptions, and past Teammate reviews) are visible to Teammates considering whether to accept a shift
• Confirmed shift details are shared with both parties once a match is confirmed by both sides

Beyond platform-internal sharing, we may disclose your personal information to:

• Trusted service providers who process data on our behalf (payment processors, cloud hosting providers, analytics services), all bound by confidentiality obligations
• Law enforcement or regulatory authorities when required by applicable law or valid legal process
• A successor entity in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of substantially all platform assets, subject to notice to users

5. Your Rights

Under PIPEDA and applicable Ontario legislation, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete information
• Withdraw consent to certain uses of your data (subject to legal and contractual limitations)
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to retention obligations under law
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format
• Lodge a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada

Note that certain data, particularly post-shift ratings submitted about you by another party, form part of the other party's record and cannot be deleted by either user. This is an inherent feature of our mutual-accountability rating system.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as necessary to fulfil the purposes described in this policy. When you delete your account:

• Profile information and ZingCard data are removed from public view within 30 days
• Shift records and financial data are retained for a minimum of seven years as required by Ontario financial record-keeping regulations
• Anonymized, aggregated performance data may be retained indefinitely for platform improvement purposes

7. Cookies and Tracking

We use essential cookies required for platform functionality (authentication, session management). We may also use analytics cookies to understand how users interact with the platform. You can control cookie preferences through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may affect platform functionality.
