Zing isn't a staffing agency. It's a two-sided platform where restaurants and hospitality workers find each other, build trust through data, and grow together.
Tell us about your restaurant — cuisine type, service style, team size, capacity, peak hours, and neighbourhood. The more detail you provide, the better your matches.
Complete the Toronto Hospitality Staff Standard survey. This captures exactly what you need from flexible workers — dress code, service standards, technical requirements, communication expectations.
Get grouped with similar restaurants — same service calibre, complementary cuisine types. Your cluster shares a vetted talent pool instead of each restaurant scrambling independently.
Post open shifts with your requirements. Zing surfaces matched Teammates ranked by assessment scores, past performance, and fit. You see each Teammate's ZingCard before confirming.
Offer shifts to Teammates you want. They review your Spot profile and decide whether to accept. Once both sides confirm, the shift is locked.
After every shift, rate the Teammate across 6 dimensions. They rate your Spot too. High-rated Spots earn Community Stars and priority access to Elite Teammates.
Tell us about yourself — your experience, the roles you're comfortable with (26 roles across FOH, BOH, and Events), your availability, and which Toronto neighbourhoods you prefer.
Take the Toronto Hospitality Staff Standard assessment. We evaluate you across 6 dimensions: Technical Skill, Grooming, Communication, Motivation, Adaptability, and Smile/Warmth.
Your assessment generates your ZingCard — a portable professional profile that follows you across every Spot. This is your hospitality identity on the platform.
Zing matches you with Spots that fit your skills. You see each Spot's profile — ratings, team culture, service expectations — before you decide. Accept what works. Decline what doesn't.
Show up, do great work. After every shift, the Spot reviews you. You review them too. Both profiles improve with honest data.
Every positive review compounds your Zings rating. Move from New → Active → Proven → Top → Elite. Higher tiers unlock better Spots, higher pay, and more choice.
Assessment is the foundation of everything on Zing.
Role-specific capability — knife skills for a line cook, wine knowledge for a server, speed and accuracy for a bartender.
Professional presentation. Clean, appropriate appearance that matches the Spot's standards.
Genuine warmth, approachability, and the ability to make guests feel welcome.
Clear, effective communication with team and guests. Can they take direction? Relay information accurately?
Drive and initiative. Do they anticipate needs or wait to be told? Do they take ownership of their shift?
Hospitality is unpredictable. Adaptability measures how someone performs when plans change.
